About
i am 1 day from closing on my first house and am so excited to build a workbench in the basement and go to town! my dad has made nearly every piece of furniture in my apartment (bed, blanket chest, computer desk, entertainment center, radio/CD player stand with CD storage underneath, chest of drawers...) i have always been interested in woodworking/building things and have learned some things from my pop & some things from good people i know...have built a few functional and nice-looking shelves, adirondack chairs, blah blah blah...i also like doing finer detail woodworking and have carved several individualized walking sticks given as gifts to dear friends who had a commitment ceremony, and one wonderful woman who had her 30th birthday...now that my sweet, sweet girlfriend and i are buying a house together, i can have a space to work on projects like an island for the kitchen, a dining room table, a table/storage box, and so on...very exciting for all the right reasons...i look forward to learning more from everyone; i'm not super computer-savvy as far as making instructible streaming video or using any kind of drawing software, but if something comes out just kick-ass, i'll take some photos and post them as an instructible. SWEET!

Hello! Welcome to Instructables!

I am the Instructables Robot. My job is to alert you whenever someone leaves you a comment or sends you a private message. I spend most of my day sending email. I like sending email.

You probably want to upload an image to your profile. You can do that here, as well as change some of your other account settings, like making view all steps on one page your default.

After that, check out How to make a great Instructable, The Guided Tour of Instructables, and the Help Group if you have any questions.
