Thanks! Yeah, i want to try and stain them soon.
Good point about the glue.
That's a great idea! Never thought of that.
Thanks for the tips! I didn't think about mixing the sawdust and glue a little thinner. That would have helped because it was a huge muck of a mess and wouldn't go together well. I get ya on cutting the dowel on an angle, but it's an added step I probably won't do since I get good results without it. Thanks!
Yeah, I wondered about epoxy. Good tip on the sawdust.
Thanks for the feedback!
Also make sure the jig is set to the right material thickness. They all work together.
If you've got the time, they are great! :)
Thanks! I'll try that with the glue.
Yeah, I know I didn't get the mix just right. Think I had too much glue. Thanks

you can buy the plans to make your own, but I don't sell the finished product. We don't get much snow here so wet shoes isn't that big of a deal. I think lmainate or a slotted bottom with a catch underneath would be great!
Thanks! Yup it's an old RIDGID TP13002 planer. It's been awesome for me. Just a planer though, no jointer ability. I have it on my flip top cart which flips around and has a spindle sander on the other side. http://fixthisbuildthat.com/fliptop

Thanks, David. All you really need is a tablesaw and a planer for this. I know those are still big tools, but that's all you really need.
No, it's not harmful. The glue I used is a PVA glue and is rated as food safe for indirect food contact and use in cutting boards.(thank you Google Translate :)
Agreed! Walnut is my favorite wood by far.
Yes, these are probably my favorite combo.

Yeah, totally agree. I was already tired just moving the bags around :) I love the idea of wet polishing and adding some aggregate or glass. Might try that in a future project.
There is a little surface tension, but I wouldn't say it was difficult. Took a couple minutes but no big deal.
Sounds awesome! I'd love to see your results.
Sure, if you want to spend several hundred dollars vs. several tens of dollars then that would make a lot of sense. Thanks!
Hahaha, yup! Like a tank.

And thanks for the compliments on the color and design!
I agree, and I did consider tilting the seat, but the fact that this is foam that has give to it somewhat negates that. But I'll tell you if 80% of the people that come over hate it or not :)
