Next time you are into the carbs look at the bottom of the slides. You will see a ramp. That ramp lines up with the idle adjustment screw on the outside of the carb. As the screw moves in or out it moves the slide up or down. So when inserting the slide just make sure the ramp lines up with the screw.I used to have a similar bike, a 1977 Honda CB175SS. Those old Honda twins produce a beautiful singing burble as you cruise down the road don't they?
