About I've had a lifelong interest in reducing my impact on the environment, (reducing my footprint so to speak). In my early 20's a few friends and I started a curbstop recycling project called Envirobox. This project grew in a grassroots fashion and at the end when the city took over recycling we had nearly 200 clients in two different districts in Winnipeg. Later I became a member of the Westman Recycling Council and collaborator in their quarterly newsletter.
Recently I have been given an opportunity to work on a project related to gardening. I will be focusing on Xerotropic gardening using plants native to my region. Hopefully I can help influence my friends and neighbours to consider reducing their impact on the environment by reducing their reliance on chemicals in the maintence of their yards.
