How long did it take to make the AR4? The biggest gun I ever made was the SRv2, and that took a week, but it was on and off, like an hour and a bit each day. Twas easy for me though because I had instructions (sort of). But the omen isn't too hard to build is it? It's quite a straight-forward thing.
It took me about 3 days to make it, 4 hours per day. Summer vacation was starting out when I first made it.
I didn't know what the end result would be when I first started out making the OMEN. The only thing I wanted to make was an effective single shot war gun. It took me about 7 hours (one hour per day) to get somewhere and tune it up.

Cool, I would have thought that the AR4 would take the longest? I started proper work on my bolt action yesterday. I've had the mech for a while but I thought I'd start. I like your's and logic boy's, but I wanted something that was aethetically more like The_Burrito_Master's Moretti (spelling?). Does your AR4 shoot yellow rods? It's just that's what mine will hopefully shoot.
I knew what the purpose of the AR-4 was gonna be, and I also had some reference guns for tuning purposes. It took 12 hours, compared to the Omen's 7 hours.
And that doesn't include the failed AR-4 v3 prototype I built in March....I showed it off to some people at Knexables....

Yeah I just tested the bolt action and was a little dissapointed. The amount of extra pieces and longer loading time weren't really worth the extra range. For me, a semi auto (in knex terms) is almost as accurate and powerful anyway, so I scrapped the bolt action idea for now. I'm making my first ever replica: The M110 Semi Automatic Sniper Rifle. I noticed there is already an M110 on 'ibles, but it cannot shoot rods (orange connecor w/ dark grey connector. Mine shall have an internal pusher which shoots yellow rods. I also want mine to have a silencer (non-functional though, obviously :P)
Your prototype or mine? Probably yours because mine shoots forever (jk, but it can shoot from the back Dining room wall to the back wall in my bedroom, which is around 40 feet, and then the ammo has to bounce off the wall.

No the range is fine (it was mine), gets a solid 50ft, but has potential for more since I only tested it in my garden. I mean the range isn't drastically different to a semi, therefore I see no reason to continue building the gun.
Well how many bands did you use on your bolt action? Compared to the bands on your other gun (Not semi auto btw)

No, I didn't write it. Some on the old-time knexers wrote it up. I and some other people post it on acounts who we think could be good some day, of people that need help with the website.
TD, Dsman, IAC, and Jollex came up with this idea as a solution against block triggers.
