If it's a static test it may bounce off the tyre.If a road test should stay engaged. The centre of the pivot shaft, the centre of the motor spindle and the centre of the bike wheel hub should all be in line when the motor is engaged and the tyre should be compressed slightly when the motor is engaged.Ensure the motor is spinning the opposite direction to the tyre for forward motion of the wheel.Loosen bracket, extend motor outwards towards tyre til it engages with tyre, tighten bracket let go of motor to see if the motor drops free from tyre, when test make sure wheel is rotating first before engaging drive.
In the process of making a friction drive based on yours, the moment from the motor successfully swings into place, but the motor doesn't keep in contact with the tyre after the initial contact, am I missing an intricacy if the design? Thanks
