Hey am in the process of building the yanis eos controller but I am not able to download the pdf file. also what pin headers are you talking about in the first step? i cant seem to connect the usb host shield to the arduino pro mini. plEASE hELP

They are a very common part and can be easily found on the net. for example: http://www.futurlec.com/ConnHead.shtml.
First, solder the headers on the arduino board, then connect the board together. Once you have the 'pin headers' in your hands, you will immediately see how it fits in the picture..
