Wow! What a great plan. It took me about 2 hours to build it, including the time at Home Depot. I used galvanized pipe instead of black. I can't think of any drawbacks, except it increased the price from about $30 to about $33. The black on the black pipe comes off on anything that touches it. My bike does not have a solid bar on top. It is an articulated, spring-loaded mountain bike. So the middle support pipe got in the way. I just removed the upper elbow and only have two supports instead of the three in your plan. It supports my bike beautifully. Thanks!
