About Me llamo Osvaldo Julio Schiavoni I speak Spanish, not English. I use automatic translators for writing my instructables. I am retired since 01/01/10; 010110=x'22 (el loco! (the crazy))
Me alegra mucho encontrar alguien q conose espanol...Hablo espanol de mexico entonces dices palabras raras y yo tmbn...pues ahora somos conocidos ! Ciao
Hello, here are some images of a wood stabilization chamber I made. This is a glass container from Wal Mart. I put my turning blanks inside another glass jar with wood stabilizer. That was placed in the larger jar so I didn't waste as much stabilizer.
Okay, but the question is who puts the bell to the cat. Eric Wilhelm must have rowed hard to get here. I can speak with knowledge of the facts, I have the best rhyming dictionary of Castilian, since 2000, and I had to start giving it away in 2006 because sales did not offset the work of maintaining the page and PR.
Warning, the "on line" translation is not perfect. Almost always I must do some corrections. The best way (for me) is reverse the translate, to see if it is correct.
Sometimes lacks a "no" or a "don 't", which may be serious.
No, I speak only Spanish. I can read almost without problems English, and use Google Ttanslator to write it. Welsh is not an argentine languaje. Here there are a lot of inmigrants, from almost all countries. In fact, I am grandson of italians, my 4 grandfather and my 4 grandmother was born in Italy.
que bueno que te animaste a hacer instructables blilingues para hacer instructables mas global im glad you made bilingual instructable, this will make instructables grate for the spanish comunity ( no se como poner comunidad de habla hispana)
I must try your 48 hour heliostat idea on equatorial mount this summer! Good light is just a month away now in my garden. The problem so far is i have not yet found a clock that will reliably raise and lower the dripper. The clock gears are just a little too weak in the electronic ones they sell here. I plan to use two curved mirrors to bounce the light towards an upside down box cooker. (One dripper tracker should be able to work at least 2 mirrors). The box cooker will also have a "mouth' with mirrors to scoop in the light just in case my device is not perfectly aimed. Brian
I did a brief test (1 and a half hr) of the mirror revolving in 48 hr on the equatorial mount for a heliostat and it seems to work! If I am not working tomorrow, and I get good light I will check it out with greater accuracy. If a mirror revolving on an equatorial mount works, why on earth are people spending fortunes using trackers? Perhaps I missed something big. If it works, one dripper might be able to control 5 or 6 mirrors to concentrate light into the bottom of a very powerful solar oven! Brian
I've often wondered the same thing as you. I thought that I was the only clever, I had realized that. But then my disappointment, it has been known for centuries. The equatorial mounting is not too know by the people, It is of astronomical domain. Five or six mirrors are too few, you will need many more. I have used 80 of them with acceptable success, in the winter, to 32° south latitude.
I would use a few big mirrors and then a curved one under an upside down box cooker to collect all that light for the cooker. Reflective efficiency is only going to be about 60% BUT very little losses with conduction and convection from the box. so in theory, the box should get good and hot and stay good and hot. I emailed recently with a guy who suggested the upside down box cooker several years ago and he said that my email was the first he ever got about it! So in solar cooking very few people are researching or even trying out new ideas!
Your idea is original and interesting. I wish you success. But you don't trust too much, keep in mind that in summer one can make a fried egg on the roof of the car. The problem is in winter, when the sun shines much less and there is cold wind.
If the device is well balanced and the shaft is well lubricated or mounted on balls, you should not have problems with an electronic clock low price. That I believe. You must consider that each time the light is reflected, we lose an important part of it. I try to avoid this double reflection. A mine curiosity: what about "... two curved mirrors ..."? Is it not enough a single plane mirror? Good luck with your project, I ask you to have us warned. Mine had to be temporarily suspended by a series of small (ant not so) mishaps. This year, with luck, I jubilee me, and I hope to go much faster.
I hope to try for a little concentration of light from 2 or 3 heliostats with curved reflectors. Then, concentrate a bit more as it goes into the bottom of the box cooker. I hope that sending the light into the bottom will mean very little heat loss with conduction and convection. But, who knows?
You and I are creative, and therefore we do not conform to the assumptions and suggestions of others. We like to experiment, and that is good. Good luck!
I know it's been a while since he posted that, but thought I'd explain anyway.
"Suks" = "Sucks", which is an idiom for, roughly, "is too bad" or "a shame".
He is saying that it is too bad or a shame that none of your instructables have been chosen to be featured on the front page. But that isn't the only measure of how good an instructable is. Not every awesome instructable can be featured, there just isn't enough space!
