DIY AUTOMATIC SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER
This is a good project and well done.A note on batteries: There is a point where cell voltage is critical (the lower limit) and any further discharging will cause cell damage- on a acid based battery it is around 1.8 volts per cell (2.17 Volts nominal voltage per cell) . To prevent damage you should install an automatic battery disconnect to protect the batteries. Find the lower limit (point of damage) from the battery manufacturer and use this to cut off the batteries so they will last longer.This sounds like a great DIY project that is not difficult and may be integrated with this project!Great job!Randy O'Laughlin - former Telco battery tender...
