Had to save up for a Canon printer but I finally got it. You're right about the thickness of the metal being trouble. I ended up having to paint about a half inch of the design by the bolster by hand. Thanks for the knowledge and inspiration, I can't wait to make more!-Monte

Says the guy with a recipe for botulism on his page... lol. Stick to little wooden pipes and boxes man!

Everything I said I tried to be as understanding and constructive as I could. If you didn't remove my comments then your minions of closed-minded troops did. Flagging my comments simply because they disagree. Either one could be the case, it doesn't matter now. I'm responding now in spite of this because it seems to appear you want dialog. This isn't about censorship or political correctness. It's about being fair. Kids come to this site to learn and expand their mind. What appears to you to be some off-the-cuff harmless remark about cleaning is actually reinforcing gender stereotypes to the impressionable. Imagine if what you said was racist? Sure, it would be great if we could all lighten up have some thick skin and see it is a joke, however that's not what this website is for. I feel when educating the public (you become a teacher when you make an instructable), it's important to be unbiased and nondiscriminatory when presenting knowledge. This wasn't some kind of personal attack and you should stop viewing it as such. Like I said, I love your project and I think you do great work. Sometimes we just need to drop the ego and take in a little criticism because no one is perfect and we can always make ourselves better. This was purely my intention from the beginning, to help you view the world in a broader stroke. I obviously didn't do so well as no matter how nice or diplomatic I wrote, you still took offense to what I was saying. This was not my intention.Sometimes however, in the presence of new light, it takes our eyes a minute to adapt. Our minds similar: we are naturally resistant to change. So used to thinking a certain way for so long that we don't even notice it anymore. It's important to evaluate our thoughts from time to time as they may even betray how we really feel. I don't really think you're sexist. But what you said was. I just wanted to tell you why so you would understand.

Oh okay, I TOTALLY believe you. It's not like you had anything to lose by having a free and democratic debate on this page. Oh except that your views were bigoted and sexist and have no place on this site? How hard is it to say you cleaned something without assigning a sex to it? You could have just said you stopped being lazy, but no you had to get chauvinistic. Peace out dude.

Don't bother explaining he'll just delete your comments. He doesn't want to learn. Trust me, I've tried. Some people are better with their hands, others with their minds.

This is the third time you've left a snide comment written about me as if I'm not here. I'd appreciate the passive-aggressive insults to cease please. This is a place of learning. If you don't agree with my views, please elaborate your own or leave the discussion. I don't appreciate the backhanded talk. Act like an adult.

Deleting dialog is a wonderful way to open your mind.

No sir, you are sexist. Your views are sexist and all your comments are you just making excuses for clinging onto your bigoted viewpoints. You have even openly admitted this in your first response to me. You have yet to justify why you called your first step "Be a Woman" if you didn't hold such views. Your straw man arguments about importance of jobs is irrelevant and honestly I can't discuss this any further with you because you fail to see the forest for the trees. Anything I say isn't getting through so I bid you good day. Thank you for turning my favorite site into a place of unease and discomfort. I came here to build, not read sexist instructables. Start a blog if you want to be a jokester.

I hate to be a party pooper... however I did find the blurb rather sexist and unnecessary. Inferring women like to clean or the commenter above stating that men like football or women like tennis. I don't come to this site for reinforced gender stereotypes but rather to be inspired by knowledge intended for everyone. Abilities know no sex. Thinking in terms of gender when it comes to capability is rather limiting and seeing it on my favorite site was a bit disgusting. I know it's all in good fun but before you make a joke, think about the message you're sending out.Nice job on the bow.

I understand the need for balance and the concept of the yin and yang. However, you made it pretty clear that you believe that it is women in general who are better at cleaning. This is a specific stereotype and not you simply describing the balance between you and your partner.Don't get me wrong, I love raunchy humor but it belongs in a certain place. I feel the Instructables website fosters a certain unbiased and open-minded forum for sharing knowledge and creativity. Your jokes, while superficially harmless, do encourage societal limitations based on sex.My mom was a US Army helicopter pilot for 24 years and has had to deal with these types of "jokes" her entire career and it can be stifling and discouraging. All I want to do was to bring this viewpoint to your attention.

Detailed acid etching with a stencil

Nevermind, the press-n-peel website says Brother printers suck and I've been using the school's HL-6180DW. I'm sad because I already sanded my knife blade.

"Etchant etching with a stencil" I would have never found this instructable searching for that phrase. Sometimes it's okay to stick with the colloquial terms.

I'm having trouble getting the press-n-peel to stick to the knife blade. The iron is around 300F but no higher than 320 (I melted the first one a little) and the last time I even left it on the knife for like 20 minutes. Should I try sanding the blade? I'd rather not because the scratches will show after taking the mask off.
