I am just getting interested in installing some form of solar power in my flat. I want to start off small and build up as i don't know much about how these systems work and also don't have a big budget at all.Im just interested to know if i can install one solar panel which can be attached to a power outlet (or has a plug socket on it to plug appliances in) which then stores energy until its used. Is there a limit to the amount of energy that can be stored? Or do appliances have to be hard wired into a solar panel to harness the energy? I just envisage having a socket i can use the kettle or toaster from in the kitchen, or to charge my laptop when the weather is good. Is this a feasible application for solar power?
