'Retired a few years ago from behind the camera & wings, took a step out into the light and studied with Second City L.A. -- nice third act, right?
As a set designer the disciplines are many, varied and rarely ever your own; it came down more to having a great Filo-fax and the ability to schmooze, i.e.: "giving good meeting" more than any degree, think on your feet or die; learn fast, the curve is steep.
I hate to admit this but on my last show we were still taking film out for processing -- no digital cameras kiddies! The ones available were clunkish, expensive and had chips the size of your thumbnail with a whopping 1/2 mega pixel of resolution.
Yes, when I was a kid, water was already invented, and Moses "long-timee" dead, smart-ass!
I am a MAC person. I loathe but tolerate the (shudder) other platform; I will work with it under duress, "why?" constantly echoing in my mind, and am truly joyful when the task is completed.
Strand me on a desert isle with an iPad full of Jerry Bruckheimer , Jamie Cullum, plus, a generator... Oh and a few other don't leave home with out 'em's.
I hope to give as well as I get !
