'Retired a few years ago from behind the camera & wings, took a step out into the light and studied with Second City L.A. -- nice third act, right?
As a set designer the disciplines are many, varied and rarely ever your own; it came down more to having a great Filo-fax and the ability to schmooze, i.e.: "giving good meeting" more than any degree, think on your feet or die; learn fast, the curve is steep.
