Yours is just a bit longer than the one pictured, it works the same way!

It's hard to tell from your picture, but it looks like you haven't actually closed your circuit. Are your power strips on the outsides of the board connected across on both sides, if not, then the Yellow Wire doesn't seem to be in the right place. make sure that you are going from the negative (blue) strip to the led, then the led to the resistor, then the resistor back to the positive (red) strip, and that your black and yellow wires are hooked in on the same side of the board. See if that helps!
