Robot Fan Glass Gem Ring

Intro: Robot Fan Glass Gem Ring

Rings are always such nice little presents, and this is such a quick and simple project, that even absolute beginners can easily manage it.

STEP 1: This Is What You Need:

- a picture of whatever you'd like to see in your ring (photos work beautifully as well!)
- a ring shank
- a cutter (you can use scissors just as well)
- glue (I used E 6000)
- glass gems (the ones you use for decoration, I love the slightly uneven look)

STEP 2:

Punch out (or cut out) your picture. Put glue onto the picture (apologies for the slightly blurred photo) and stick it onto the glass gem. You don' t really need a lot of glue. The blob I used was way too much. Then apply glue to the shank and stick glass gem onto it. Adjust the direction of your ring. Let dry.

I have a question though about the glue. Did you use it on inkjet printed paper or the laserjet type of ink? I was wondering because sometimes inkjet ink can get runny when wet. I used hot glue to attach my images and that worked great with just regular inkjet ink,

I have made magnets as well, it works the the same.
To your question: I used an inkjet printer and used E 6000. I think that the concistency of E 6000 is thick enough so that it dosen' t soak through. It dries fast enough. I did some rings by using mod pogde. Worked fine too. Not to attach to the shank but the picture under the gem.

Great job! I have made these at Christmas only with a magnet on the back and used photos of my friends' families reduced in size with wordpad and then cut to fit the back of the flattened marble as well. Then gave them as miniature photo galleries for their refrigerators. I never thought about using them to make jewelry out of them. Way cool I want to make a pendant now. - Thanks
