Intro: 15 Minute Blackened Fish Tacos

Sometimes you need a quick family friendly recipe that is easy to make and satisfies a crowd. These simple fish tacos do the job. Additionally, they have a hearty portion of fish and vegetables, making them a healthy dinner option.

STEP 1: Ingredients

You will need:

- 2 lbs Tilapia

- Tortillas

- Cilantro

- Tomatoes, One large or a few small

- 1 Avocado

- 1/2 Sweet Onion

- 1/2 Lime

- Mayonnaise

- Blackening Seasoning, I use Old Bay's

STEP 2: Season

Heavily season both sides of your tilapia with a blackening seasoning. I use Old Bay but there are tons of different types of blackening seasoning.

Start heating enough vegetable oil to coat the base of the pan, I find that medium low is good, and set your tilapia to cook.

STEP 3: Chop!

Dice up your tomato and onion. Half and slice your avocado. Chop your cilantro.

Separately, start heating your tortillas. I throw mine in the oven on low but you can throw them on a skillet, or in the microwave.

STEP 4: Lime Mayo

Take your half of a lime and empty the juices into your half cup of mayonnaise. Mix until flavor and texture are consistent.

STEP 5: Back to the Tilapia

Break down your tilapia with a spoon, I like having some smaller chunks and some larger chunks. This is optional, you can serve your tilapia in full, I like mine broken down.

STEP 6: Serve

Take out your warm tortilla, fill it with your fish and vegetables, and top with your lime mayo. It's a wonderfully easy dinner and everyone seems to enjoy it, I think that's just the freshness of the ingredients and simplicity of the dish.

This makes enough for four large tacos or six small tacos, you may need to adjust depending on your family size.

Sounds tasty! I just wanted to share that for some strange reason when I looked at the main image I thought it was a bowl of soup and it took a bit for me to convince my eyes I was not looking at soup.

Hahaha, that's interesting. Now I can't un-see it!
