Intro: Childs Rocking Chair Without Any Nails or Screws.

My grandkids love to sit and rock in this chair.
It looks as though it will tip, but we have never had any problems in that regard.
I made this one out of 1x6 pine. I just glued enough together to make it wide enough.
I bought a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood and was able to make 4 of them from it.
I have attached photos of the layout with a 1 inch grid drawn over it. Just transfer it to table paper to make your pattern.
You may have to tweek it a bit to make thing fit.

One question, how tall was your chair? I have made one other chair similar but like the lines of yours!
Good Morning, I haven't made one in a while, but I'm pretty sure it is around 24 inches tall and about 16 inches wide.
Thank you! I just went ahead and made it to your grid, except on the back and seat, I cut out one side, then reversed it to the other side to make them symmetrical. I’m sanding today then I’m using a roundover router bit to soften the edges. Do you varnish yours? Attached is a version I made last week.
I'm glad to hear you were able to come up with a design you like.
I used varnish to finish mine.
The photo didn't come through
I didn't get the attachment.
I did put a coat of clear varnish on it.
Glad you enjoyed my instructable.
What are the measurements of each piece
I included a grid using 1" squares. This one is about 15" by 22".
You can make it any size you like just by adjusting the size of the grid you use.

Too awesome for words. I'm gonna try to replicate this with layered cardboard.

great!

I love this post.

I'll gonna make one of this, for my kids.

Thanks, I just noticed that I forgot to draw in the hole on the chair bottom.

I think if you look at the photos, you can figure out where things go.

Best of luck to you.
