Intro: Chocolate Surprise Kiss Cupcake

I wanted to make chocolate cupcakes, but I could never make plain old regular chocolate cupcakes.  No, they had to be special.  I made delicious chocolaty chocolate cupcakes with a chocolate kiss in the center.  Yum!

STEP 1: Gather Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need:
-One 18.25 oz box of the most chocolaty chocolate cake mix you can find
-4 eggs (instead of what is calls for on the box)
-1 cup butter milk (instead of water that is called for on the box)
-Vegetable oil (amount called for on the box)
-one bag of dark chocolate kisses (or milk chocolate/or whatever other kind you want)

Other stuff you will need:
Cupcake tin (this makes about 24 cupcakes)
1 can of frosting
cupcake papers
sprinkles, or anything else you want to use to decorate

STEP 2: Make Batter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.  With a handheld mixer, mix on low for about 30 seconds until all ingredients are combined, them mix on high for 2 minutes.

STEP 3: Fill Tins

Put a cupcake paper in each tin and put a heaping tablespoon of batter in each one.  Place an unwrapped chocolate kiss in the center of each one.  Place another tablespoon of batter on top of the chocolate kiss.  Make sure to not overfill the papers, otherwise the top of the cupcake will spill over and get stuck to the pan.

Bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick is inserted and comes out clean.

STEP 4: Decorate and Enjoy!

Let your cupcakes cool down before decorating them.  Use the frosting of your choice and whatever you want to use to decorate it.  I used chocolate frosting from a can and rainbow sprinkles.

then share them with everyone!  The cupcakes are so moist, delicious and chocolaty and they are sure to get rave revues!

Thanks so much for this instructable! I made these yesterday for my boyfriend's birthday. He brought them to work and they are asking me to make more for Monday (just for the heck of it) I substituted the buttermilk with whole milk. I also used Caramel frosting (Duncan hines) instead of chocolate, which was REALLY yummy.
But thank you again! these are quite tasty! :)
could you just use milk for a substitute? and good insturcable! my sister is going to use them for her birthday party! :D
You could totally use milk. I would guess that whole milk might be better. It's just to keep the cupcakes moist :)
ok, thanks! my mom and sister made them for her birthday and they tasted vary good! :D
Do you have a Metric version?

I don't have one, but your instructable is super helpful. Would it be alright if I linked to it?
