STEP 2: Soak the Rice Paper

First we need to soak our rice paper. You can find them on Amazon or in the Asian food section of your supermarket. This is a very quick step, you place the rice paper in some water for about 5 to 10 seconds, making sure the whole thing is submerged, then place it on a nice flat surface.

STEP 3: Lay Down Those Ingredients

Now we want to lay down our ingredients. I start about 1 and a half to 2 inches down the rice paper in the middle. I like to start with my lettuce and other greens first, then move down a bit and lay down the other ingredients. Why do I stagger them? Because when you roll them up you see the individual layers in the roll and it looks really cool.

STEP 4: Roll Them Up and Serve!

Now we bring in each side of the rice paper, then grab the top and fold it over the top of the ingredients, then roll the spring roll towards you, tightly, but gently. There you go, it is as easy as that. Look at the different sections of ingredients. Now you can make a little dipping sauce if you want or use pre-made ones. Sometimes I don't even make a dipping sauce to make it extra healthy. Another ingredient I love to put in them is a half of a strip of bacon. :) Serve and enjoy!

Thank you!! yeah I really like them. Just made them again for dinner Sunday evening with my friends. We also put a half of a strip of bacon in them. haha it was awesome.

I was hoping you'd fry them. This is where my fried spring rolls go south like migrating birds in a Michigan winter! Can you do a fried version next? Pretty please?

Yep you don't fry these ones haha. I will put them on my list. Sure when when I will get to them though, but I will. :)

I guess they look nice, but a salad with all the same stuff would be easier. These do give the option as veggie side dish in a lunch box, wrapped right dirty hands, no issues. Wrap'm in waxed paper and you peel them like a banana. Years of construction taught me how to eat clean in a filty enviroment.

Amazingly 3 days ago I went to an Asain market and had these in my hands and said, but why, I actually see no point in them.

Then again one could make a forcemeat and make these by poaching/steaming them. A long nifty dumpling I guess. The wrappers have no taste really, so one could do pretty much any cuisine in them.

Interesting.

Cool! And healthy.

This should be the vietnamese kind of spring rolls, right? non-fried ones. I really like them!

Thanks for your instructable

Thank you! Yep these are the Vietnamese kind of spring rolls. Yep the non-fried ones. You are very welcome. :)
