This is a easy way to cut an UTP cable.

STEP 1: Materials

The materials are:

  • Screwdriver.
  • Peg.
  • Sharpeners.

STEP 2: Screwdriver

Now we proceed to remove the blade with the screwdriver.

Finally we put the blade in the peg the same way like the picture.

Nice hack, I have to ask though -- what are you using to crimp the connectors onto the UTP cable? These tools usually come with a stripper (outer jacket only) and cutter (all through) built in.

Or are you only using the UTP cable for other purposes (i.e. not fitting RJ45 and similar) ?

this is a great device to strip all manner of cable, simple, controllable, non- injurious to conductors, easy to fabricate, inexpensive.
