Intro: How to Covince/bribe Your Kid to Take a Pill.

I have allergies and needed to take Zirtech. I had no idea how to take a pill and so my mom and I tried many methods. I can take pills now and my doc doesnt think i'm a baby anymore! hope you like my instructable!

STEP 1: Method 1

The way my mom learned was practicing with increasingly larger pieces of balled-up bread sized from a couple grains of sand to a full sized pill.

STEP 2: Method 2

The next method I had heard but not tested. Offer a reward like a toy or $1. This usually does it. They want the toy more than they don't want to take the pill.

STEP 3: Method 3

Tell them to fill their mouth with a drink (soda etc.) Then tell them to put in a pill and then gulp it down. This won the war for me.

I wanted to make an Instructable on this myself (and still might). The best way is to have some liquid in your mouth, and make sure the pill is loose (not stuck to your tongue) and floating near the back of your mouth. When you swallow you won't even notice it.
yep mine is more trying to convince ur kid to take it...........

You can also use peanut butter, honey or jam. Although none of them used to work for me, they have worked for alot of people I know.

Also we have used the bread trick on my brother now-ex girlfriend, and she swallowed the pill instead of the bread and was so surprised that she had managed to swallow a pill xD

At one point in time I was having to take 2 acne pills per day, a few cold and flu, the pill, 2 multivitamins per day and fish oil capsules. Thats how I learnt to deal, now I can swallow all of them at once... Also, if you don't swallow the fish oil ones fast enough they burst in your mouth and taste disgusting xD

I already can take a pill, but I just wanted to say, I have Eosinophilic Esophagitis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eosinophilic_esophagitis), so I have to take a pill 2 times a day, how many pills do you need?
i used to need just 1 a day but i dont right now cuz its fall,, i think it is anyway lets see, leves turning colers, stuff falling, oohhhhh falling yep its fall.........,,
Haha, nice. I don't really care for pills, but as your read my problems I have, it's kinda hard for the pill to go down. Sometimes It sticks for a split second
Ugh, I still hate taking pills. Luckily, I rarely have to.
Good instructable! My daughter is 18 and still cannot take anything but chewables, mainly from fear. I plan to try your methods 1 and 3. Thanks!
very good idea but that there are pills much larger like advil liquigels
I think you mean Zyrtec :) I have to take them as well :p
I learned with M&M minis. Great because it was a candy, and useful since it's the exact same size as Sudafed.
