Intro: How to Tie a Square Knot

In this instructable, I'll show you how to tie a square knot easily. In my point of view this is the fastest and most simple way out of many different ways to tie this useful knot. This knot is used to connect two pieces or rope or string. It is trustworthy but will NOT stand heavy weight.

STEP 1: Left Over Right

Take left end and put it over the right, then wrap it around the other side.

STEP 2: And Right Over Left

Now cross the right side over the left and wrap around the other.

STEP 3: Done!

Now just tighten this knot and it should come out like the picture above.

In the UK, Scouts sometimes use a knot to tie their neckerchief. Some people call it a Friendship Knot, others call it a Square Knot because it is.
