Intro: KIC3 Entry: FKG (Foldable Knex Gun) by Sharir1701

Hey guys !
so this is my entry for TD's third innovator's challenge. as requested, it is a foldable repeater. the stock is the only part that folds, but it covers the handle and trigger and gets right up to the magazine, making it look like a rectangle, or a briefcase. it has a very comfortable carrying handle that is also a very comfortable, perfectly placed cheek rest for when the gun isn't folded. sadly, there is no lock for the stock on the unfolded gun, so it can wobble a bit, but not when your shoulder is on it. also, when you fold the stock, there isn't an automatic lock for it, so you have to take a blue rod and stick it through something to lock, but then it holds extremely well. now for the shooting... it has an internal pin, meaning nothing is sticking out of the back and there is a top charging handle. the pin is very good. the trigger is a simple y-con pulling green rod trigger, if you know what i mean, and it is very powerful, and can hold as much pressure as you need it to. it's also the smallest type of (true) trigger i know. it has an oodammo mag, though i customized mine, and it doesn't shoot the actual oodammo, but rather a white rod with a 1-slot connector, but the mag is much much better. the pusher stops right before the pin, so it never breaks or leaves the mag, it is closed on the front with a wall that makes it much stronger and stabler, it is attached to the top of the gun, and the rod of the mag reaches up to the perfect point. because of all of these, the mag never blows up, breaks or shoots two bullets. the handle is the same as my S2, but without the trigger guard.

EDIT: finally, pics are up.

EDIT: i added some internal pics i took while taking it apart, so that you guys could build it as well if you want.

i hope i get a good rating for this on the challenge, and hope you guys like it. also, don't forget to rate, comment and subscribe !!! for more awesomeness.

Fantastic gun! Here's mine!

alright added. btw, i was gonna ask you but forgot, but now i see it and have a second question: does the handle fold well that way? it might have gotten me an extra point in the KIC had i thought of that lol... well not that that matters now anyway.
No, not really, but I fixed the handle now. I also converted it to shoot oodammo. It seems to get better ranges.
Oh yeah, I added pitchfork like irons
i don't really like those types of sights because the front sight is usually way thinner (in perspective) than the back sight, and that makes it quite hard to aim accurately. anyway, if you like it, that's your choice lol.
Well, personally I like pitch fork irons, like M16 and Vectors.
i don't know about vectors, never shot one before, but the M16 has rail sights, which look similar from the back when aimed correctly, but they are much easier to aim with in reality. even with the rail sights it still is quite hard to aim. circle and dot/rod irons or green irons (ones with 2 green dots in the rear sight, parallel to each other, and one on the tip of a rod on the front sight. you need to align them. they also stick out (because they're bright green) and that makes it even easier to aim with them) are much easier to aim with, but red dot takes them all, hands down.
obviously, but i didn't care too much for the ranges, and preferred to have a better magazine. anyway, if you didn't already do it like this, then just know that the back of the handle is connected by having the white rod on the 2-way connector in the hole of the 5-way connector. also, seriously, you made out the whole gun except for that? it's really simple and it's also a common handle connection. nvm, i hope you figured it out.
Yeah, I did.
excellent, thanks for posting the picture ! do you think you could make a full instructable for it? i'll add it to the intro now.
I was gonna ask you that. I may, but the handle is a bit weird, I couldn't see how to properly attach it.
I like it man. If you post it it would make my day.
not likely, because i took some of it apart for parts for my quad semi auto bolt action smg, if i've told you about it. anyway, it isn't so great as a stand-alone gun. it was built all around the folding concept, while also trying to keep it closed and compact. it gets only around 40 feet... if i get 4 more people asking me to post it, i might. on a happier note, i've already taken all the pictures for my S1, and am probably going to post it sometime in the next 2-3 days (lazy, lazy, lazy...). i'm also working on that quad thing i said above, and also on the SA 3252, though i'm changing the name, since it is one of the best guns i've ever made (s series), and i'm the only one working on this version, as well as the version this is based on. i am of course giving oblivitus a lot of credit for the concept, the setup and much much more, but this is my design. it will be mostly 5 layers (maybe completely. at the moment it has 1 area where it's 7 layers), finally have 1 true trigger (hopefully, if it works out), will be the strongest version yet, and will be very small width and height wise. removable mag and much much more... it WILL definitely be posted, if i complete it.
please post this gun i always love your guns so please post it
well, thanks, but it's already apart. i built it for the sole purpose of the challenge (KIC3), and it wasn't much help to me... i am working on two new amazing guns (S3 and another type semi auto, you'll see. you can check out some of my S3 pics in my new 'ible), and i've taken all my other guns (except for one S2, because it's really piece efficient and it's the best gun i've ever built) apart. i'm sorry... also, read my below comment reply to tytiger33's similar request.
