K'nex Bike

Intro: K'nex Bike

A simple bike made out of K'nex. It would have been a larger, two-speed model, but I couldn't get a hold of any of those larger yellow gears. I also don't have enough bendy rods, so this bike is made with 100% old school pieces. It has an adjustable seat and handlebars.

STEP 1: Gather Materials

Connectors
- 5 White
- 36 Yellow
- 45 Orange
- 16 Green
- 4 Red
- 4 Light Grey
- 16 Grey

End Connectors
- 16 Brown

Rods
- 4 Black
- 9 Grey
- 27 Red
- 2 Yellow
- 4 Blue
- 65 Green

Miscellaneous
- 2 Red Gears
- 12 Blue Spacers
- 26 Black Chain Link
- 1 small rubber band

Motors and Wheels
- 2 Small Tires

STEP 2: Wheels 'n Things

Build the wheels, support struts and supporting components. The wheel shown is the front wheel. The back wheel is different, so build the wheel without the supports for the back one. The wheels are a tad weak, but you can substitute yellow bendy rods in place of the orange connectors to form the curve.

STEP 3: Front Portion

Keep on building!

STEP 4: Gears 'n Things

Build the gears 'n things. The brakes are nonfunctional for now, but I'm planning a two-speed model once I can get some yellow gears. If you can get the brakes working, please post a picture!

do not make the wheels they are very fragile make your own custom wheels
Awesome bicycle! It looks almost exactly the same as mine, and great job on the wheels!
I didn't bother about making it, so, I ask: can a person fit on it? Please answer my question. If you cannot, I don't mind. have a nice day. I might wont to change my name into: K'nexasoar".
no u cant ride it but its a sick bike to make since theres no other bike were you turn the pedals and it spins the back wheel on this site but its your choice i also upgraded the brakes so the were funtional u pull the brake leaver on handel bars and it stops the back wheel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! epic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy damn, I knew it. Someone was gonna notice.
Awesome! :D Guess I posted at the right time! How can you tell though?
well, it says there are 1001 knex instructables, so the next to last one must be the 1000 one. that happened to be yours.
Don't use yellow gears cause they have little nodges on them so the chain wouldn't fit cause i tried that on ma go kart i am makin
Nope. You can feel it bendy when you push on it but it looks soo sweet.
how much weight can it hold? necause if it can hold at least 50, you could put a little kid on it
I sat on one of those TINY bikes (made for, like, 3 year olds) and peddled it up and down the aisles of a Target. Wow...I couldn't steer straight, knees kept getting in the way...
