Intro: My Marble Rifle

This is my marble rifle made with pvc. It has a uses a ball valve and fires you geussed it marbles. It has a silencer that works and is not just for looks. Hay if anyony has a rifle like this I'd like to see it so post some pictures and have a look at my instructable https://www.instructables.com/id/Pvc-AirGun-Bullets/ And tell me what you think about them!

aah my old friend the marble rifle, gotta love those. i made one of those, and i still have it, its barrel is about 3 feet of 3/4 pvc, valve is a hose sprayer valve, which is awesome, and the chamber is 2 feet of 1 1/2 abs, il post a picture in a bit...
Here as promised, the pictures of my air gun, pictured here as well with interchangeable 40mm grenade barrel.

Good idea! I'm designing an air rifle similar to this one, with an air pistol valve. It's an awesome concept!

awesome... but wouldnt it b a bit awkward? i made 1 that actully looks like a gun (hint hint) with a wooden stock and all. it also has a trigger so the valve opens alot quiker which = more power + accuracy.
i also shot a rabbit with it and it near killed it but i had 2 put the dam thing out ov its misery with a rock. i would post pics ov the rabbit but its a bit gory lol. however i love ur interchangerble barrel lol great 4 water fights
poor rabbit... dude im not gnna be negative or anything but arent these for entertainment only not for killing? but anyway nice rifle
well i got bored shooting pieces of tin. anyway if i didnt shoot it with this it would have been shot with something else, it was eating mums plants
the thing with My gun is that is very light weight (hint hint) and with my bullets i can knock a hole straight through a rabbit but apperently unless you get them in the brain they just carry on crawling.
Cool Is your hose sprayer valve adapted. Because id have thought it wouldnt hold pressure well
nope, not modded at all, it holds pressure perfectly, with no leaking or the like, all you need to do is find the right adapters that go from the hose threading to normal plumbing threading, which is the hardest part, btw check out the comments i left on your forum topic, i think you'll like the idea.
agreed i literly spent an hour in ace hardware looking for the damn things
you sir had a great idea... i kinda took it and made it into my own... except.theres a slight problem mine ceases to want to fire any type of marble... although im using a step up higher grade air resovoir thats slightly bigger than yours thank you for the idea....plus what do you use hand pump or compressor?
i made a rifle similar to this using 1/2 inch pvc and mounted in a 2x4, that i machined to hold it and also mounted a scope on a 1911 mil-spec rail.

bolt actioned and with a 10 rnd spring magazine, its dead nutz accurate and powerful.

ammuntion is bronze alloy bar turned on a lathe at my school's metal shop.
ive used this homemade rifle to take down game as large as a ten point white tail buck.

to date the highest velocity achieved is 913 ft per second and is capable of punching through 1/8 inche sheet metal.

id love to trade design notes if youd be willing, maybe we could each help eachother to improve our designs.
That sounds like a great gun, can you post some pics. Also is the barrel rifled?
unfortunately i dont own a digital camera or a scanner but i could draw up some rough blue prints on a paint document and send them to you.

and yes the barrel is rifled.i fit a steel pipe into the pvc barrel and used a speed-adjustable torque drill with a steele cutter-head to carve cresent indentations, in a spiral pattern, into the metal.
i find the cresent shape makes all of my rifle more accurate and i have used this technique to improve some of my over-the-shelf rifles aswll with great results.

oh,and incase your wondering why i mention "my schools workshop" its beace im only 16.

hope to hear back soon and will send those blueprints should you desire.
That sounds great, will see about sending you some of my designs to see what you think, although may be difficult as main computer has died.
hey those are all sweet guns and ideas. im going to be making one of these soon but i will but with my own design. ill try to post pics of it. i may be an instructable noob. only have 1 structable' but i have some advice for you. if you want to increase you air relese speed by a ton then you should probebly go with a modded sprinkler valve. i have made about 5 spudguns but never remembered to get pics while building. they are really good and if you know how you can make a mobil trigger using some flexible tubing. when i make mine i will try to remember to submit it.
2 years late with replying. Hahaha. Yeah, I'm pretty aware of how slow these valves are, but beggars can't be choosers!
what if you use the pressure from fire, my point is set a fire inside the cylinder to create a high pressure air inside.
this is the most practical design ive seen so far
Thanks, It is practical. A nice basic airgun.
