Intro: Pocket Pizza

Is that a pizza in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Why yes, that is a pizza in my pocket.

And what a mighty fine pizza it is!

So, anyways, pocket pizza is an easy and fun snack to make for nearly any occasion (voiding all important occasions). You can even make a few and eat them for dinner. There is just no limit to the versatility of pocket pizza. I highly recommend it.

STEP 1: Go Get Stuff

You will need:

Mozzarella cheese
Marinara sauce
Pitas

Possible extras:

Mushrooms
Fresh tomato
Dried tomatoes
Garlic
Peporoni
Spinach
Broccoli
Olives
Chicken

STEP 2: Cut the Pita

Slice the pita open, but cutting a little bit off one edge.

It helps to cut a small 'V' on one end by making two cuts. This makes the pita easier to fill.

Gently open the pita up with your finger.

STEP 3: Sauce

Fill the pita with a few spoonfuls of sauce.

You don't want to put too much that it will get soggy and runny, but you also don't want to put too little that it will dry out in the oven.

Basically, you want to put enough sauce in the pita to coat the inside.

STEP 4: Cheese

Cut your mozzarella cheese into a few small slices and put these into your pita.

Try to spread them out evenly throughout so that they aren't all in the top or bottom. This will help it cook better.

Now is the time to also add any extra ingredients that you may want.

When you are done, add another spoonful or two of sauce.

STEP 5: Cook

Wrap your pocket pizza in aluminum foil and put it in the oven at 350 degrees.

Check it in about 15 minutes. The pita is done when the cheese has melted together.

STEP 6: Eat

Eat the pizza in your pocket. Yum yum.

What if you want to cook it in the microwave?
I would guess the cheese would melt around 30 seconds? I rarely user a microwave, so I wouldn't know. It might make it a little soggy.
Microwaves don't make any type of bread--like pizza crust--soggy, they make them tough--like you're chewing on rubber, leather, or something else of the sort.
Well, i was thinking, and my idea is to probably cook it normally, freeze it, then reheat it in the microwave. I don't think you specifically have ever responded to one of my comments. You're like, my idol, dude. You rock, man.
Why the heck would you put a pizza in your pocket?
Looks like a good way to make a Calzone, stuffed with all your favorite 'stuffings'.  Put a little sauce or water on the open edge, on the inside, and mash it with a fork to seal it.  Poke holes in the top with a fork or knife to vent.  Serve with a small cup of your favorite marinara for dipping.
pita's make great inside out pizza as well as standing in for other breads and rolls. I make something like yours except I fry it in a little butter or bacon drippings to get a crispy crust and use a salsa instead of tomato sauce.

Nice "ible" tasty sandwich.... my fault for reading it at 2am... = S
