Intro: Rainbow Bouquet

I love rainbows! They are bright and fun and feel good. So I decided to make some flower bouquets with hydrangeas dyed all colors of the rainbow! They are really easy to put them together, so check them out!

STEP 1: Flowers and Supplies

Flowers! - in Red - Orange - Yellow - Green - Blue - Purple - Pink or whatever colors you want! (I know that pink is not part of the rainbow.)
- The type of flower you use is up to you. When I went to the Flower Market I found a seller who had hydrangeas dyed in all the colors of the rainbow so I got those. Because of this I didn't have to worry about matching up types of flowers and sizes.

STEP 2: Cut Them Down

The amount of cutting you do will depend on how big you want your bouquet and how many flowers you are including. Since I had one type, each color took up the same amount of room.

For a hydrangea, they come in stalks with bunches on the top. The bunches can be cut down into smaller bunches (like I did for my main bouquet) and then cut down once again to even smaller bunches (like I did for the mini bouquet).

You can also get greens to go with your bouquet, not include greens, or use the greens from your hydrangea. I did the third option.

STEP 3: Assemble

For my bouquet, I took one small bunch of each color and put them together.

Arrange them how you want them and then bind them together (you don't have to bind them together but I found it made it easier to get them how I wanted them and get the floral tape ready).

I added two large leaves from the hydrangea to one side.

STEP 4: Tape It Up

Time to tape it all together.

To use floral tape, you lightly stretch it while you wrap it around your flowers. If you stretch it too much, it will tear.

Also, floral tape doesn't really stick to the flowers, but it does stick to itself. So as you are wrapping it, make sure it overlaps itself.

You can either completely cover the stems or just cover enough to hold the bouquet together. I didn't always cover the stems completely, because I thought it would be nice to be able to put them in water when you are not holding them.

Tie them up with the ribbon of choice.

STEP 5: Additional Decorations

You can do whatever you want to decorate. For an experiment, I tied ribbons to the stems and brought them up through the flowers so that they stuck up in all directions.

You can also tie the ribbons however you want. I tied double knots where you couldn't see the knot anyway, and put bows when the flowers didn't cover the stems.
