Intro: Shark Attack Cupcakes

Hey Folks, Here are some fun and easy cup cakes to make with Sharks.

I have a friend who loves Sharks (so much so they have a PhD in sharks) that I had to make these for them.

Now, there are many versions of shark cupcakes on the web, and I got the inspiration for these from photos on the web, and am I am not taking credit for coming up with them.

i have not found a tutorial on how to make them, so I hope you enjoy.

STEP 1: What You Will Need (A Bigger Boat)

For the Cupcakes you will need the following:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2tsp vanilla
1 1/2 flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup of milk

You'll also need
Icing sugar
Twinkies
Some small round cookies (used Oreo's)
Food coloring
Fruit Roll Ups (Red) or other fruit leather
Icing pens
Small round doughnuts

You could also use any other recipe for the base, up to you

STEP 2: Making the Cupcakes

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla.

Combine flour and baking soda

Add to mixture

Stir in Milk

I added Blue food coloring for effect

cook 175c for 30 minutes

STEP 3: Making Jaws

Take a Twinkie and cut off a 1/4.

Take a small round cookie and fashion it into a fin.

Stick the fin in the back of the Twinkie and stand up right.

Pour over grey icing till fully coated and place in the fridge.

STEP 4: Sharp Teeth

Now take your fruit roll ups and cut out the mouth piece as shown.

With and icing pen begin to add teeth all the way around the fruit roll up.

This will take some time and require a little patience.

STEP 5: Assemble

Take a cup cake and cut a small hole to one side. This needs to act like a cradle for the shark. Also, place a little icing at the bottom to help secure the shark.

STEP 6: What Good Is a Shark Without Eyes?

With you black icing pen add eyes and gills.

STEP 7: Save Me

To make the life preservers, take one of the small doughnuts and place on top of a cup cake.

Coat in white icing.

Let it sit for an hour or so.

STEP 8: Add Some Colour

Now cut someĀ  thin strips of fruit roll up and place on the dried doughnut.

STEP 9: Add Some Water

Finally, add some blue icing around the edges for water and to clean up and inperfections.

That's it you are now finished.

I hope you have enjoyed this Instructable.

Thank you.

Absolutely amazing. Plus, they tasted even better than they looked!
So so cute! And anything that involves twinkies, oreos and fruit rollups gets extra points as far as I'm concerned. :D
Just need to incorporate some Captain Crunch cereal and we're set. Glad you like them.
