Intro: Sock Bottle Dog Toy

The easiest cheapest Dog Toy you will ever find. Free! Our Dog loves this so much that she kept trying to take it away and play while I was making this instructable.

STEP 1: What You Will Need

You will need:
1 old sock (no need to pre-wash)
empty soda can or plastic water/soda bottle

Empty contents of can or soda by drinking it.
Take the sock off your foot or use any old sock that the washer ate the mate.

Assembly:

Insert the can or plastic bottle into the sock.
If you want to throw the toy in the pool or lake for play, leave the lid on the plastic bottle.

Tie the end of sock into a knot and throw it for the dog.

This is our dogs favorite toy. Out of all the $ Pricy toys we have tried, this is the one! She got so excited when I was trying to take the pictures of this instructable, that I just let her be in the pics. she then ran off with the finished toy..

Brandi is a shelter pup that was going to be put down because she was nearly dead. Tick Fever and other lung issues. Now she is jumping in the pool, in the lake, chasing the cats..... Very active and Healthy dog.....

That is such a great idea, I love it. I'm making one tomorrow. Thanks.

I made something similar for my son when he was a baby. Instead of a bottle, I used an crinkly air bladder I found in a package I received. He is 3 years old, and he still plays with it. Of course, we have replaced the air bladder several times.
My dogs love this toy! It's cheap and easy. I made four the first time. When the sock rips the bottle can be recycled. This one is pure genius!

Thanks Jan.... It's just crazy how such a simple toy drives them nuts wanting to play.

Dude that looks just like my dog:)

Then your dog is pretty cool...... so make it a toy. LOL
