The Cardboard Flyer
Intro: The Cardboard Flyer
With the ability to shoot over distances of 40 feet, this cardboard flyer is easy to make and will keep you entertained for hours.
Materials needed:
- 5 inch by 5 inch piece of thin cardboard (Shoe boxes and postal boxes are good candidates)
- Pattern (see attached PDF file)
- Bobby Pin
- Rubber Band
- Pair of scissors
- Tape

STEP 1: Cardboard Square
Cut out a square of thin cardboard (about 5 inches by 5 inches).
STEP 2: Pattern
Print out pattern (see attached PDF file "Cardboard Flyer Pattern") and cut it out.
STEP 3: Fixing the Pattern to the Cardboard
Tape pattern to the square of cardboard.
STEP 4: Cut Out Flyer
Cut out the cardboard and remove the pattern.
STEP 5: Launching Mechanism
Slide the rubber band into the bobby pin.
STEP 6: Fly!
Hold the bobby pin in one hand and slide the rubber band over the tail of the cardboard flyer, pull back, and let it fly!

Thanks for giving us this Instructable ! The grandson and I had a lot of fun launching these fantastic flyers . We made a plastic template from your pattern so we could trace flyers quickly onto cardboard. We made a bunch of them - most of which are now on roofs, in trees, or far off in parts unknown!
