Tire Track T-shirts
Intro: Tire Track T-shirts
In this Instructable I show you how to make shirts with a tire track print.
For the project you need:
- a tire (or the complete car with a tire)
- a shirt
- fabric paint
- a paint roller
- masking tape
- some cardboard
- a flat surface
STEP 1: Check Out My Quick Video Tutorial!
In this video I show you how to make the tire track prints with a car tire.
Along with the video you can follow the (easy) steps below :-) Youtube Video
STEP 2: Prepare Your T-shirt
Place your shirt on a flat surface ( I use some wood) and insert a piece of cardboard. (so the print won’t push trough to the back).
STEP 3: Mask the Parts You Don't Want to Print
With some masking tape (and some paper) you can mask the parts you don’t want to print, like the collar. Also tape the shirt to the surface so it won’t move.
STEP 4: Align
Try to find a wheel which will leave a nice pattern/track onto your shirt.
Align the t-shirt behind the wheel in the position you like the track to go.
STEP 5: Apply Paint
Get your paint roller, and apply the fabric paint to the tire.
STEP 6: Print
Now the most fun part of all; start your car and run over the t-shirt.
STEP 7: Cure the Print
Now you can remove your shirt and let it dry. when it’s dry iron it to cure the print.

that's really neat, do you have any link or info as to what paint you used for this?

Thumbs up on this! I made a stencil of one for a Halloween costume many years ago and your idea would have saved me so, so, so, so much time!

I'd lift the tire and clean it (from gravel, dirt, etc.) before applying the paint on it...
Excellent idea, must to try it.

You probably found the simplest solution for printing a tire impression onto a T-shirt. Good job.
