Truly Semi Auto

Intro: Truly Semi Auto

I've scoured Instructables.com, trying to find a K'nex gun that is truly semi automatic (and shoots more than 6 feet). My search came up with nothing. By truly semi auto, I mean a gun that doesn't have to be pumped stretched. bolted, or have a ram pulled back. I give you... my revolution to K'nex guns. (Actually I have A sniper rifle that uses the same principle and has special ammo. It shoots four types of ammo, but the special kind I've never seen from a gun of its class. Plus, it looks totally kickass). DISCLAIMER: I had some trouble uploading the pictures for this instructable, so it may get a little confusing. If you succeed in building it, or not, because of technical errors, DON'T FORGET TO RATE 5 STARS!!!

Peace out.

STEP 1: Barrel

Elephants are fun! :D

STEP 2: Weird Middle Piece

The part that attaches the barrel to the trigger to the handle to the mech to the mag bar things.

STEP 3: Magazine

I don't know the picture is flipped, and I'm sorry I can't fix it, but here's the mag.

STEP 4: Put the Middle Piece on the Barrel

STEP 5: Mech Parts

These two weird little things are the moving parts of the mech.

STEP 6: Build the Mech

Easy cantelopesy. (peasies are gross!)

STEP 7: Mech Braces

We want the mech to move, but only in the right directions.

STEP 8: Handle and Attaching

There's starting to be a lot of steps, so handle and attaching will be merged this step.

STEP 9: Attach Mag

I have to reuse old photos because the ones for this step won't upload.

STEP 10: Rubber Bands

STEP 11: Loading RBs

Remove the magazine by the white rods. Then pull one RB back to the wheel, turn the adjoining on backwards 180 degrees backwards so it locks onto the other green rod. repeat for the remaining rubber bands. Sorry for another sideways picture.

STEP 12: CONGRADULATIONS

on building Instructables's first truly semi automatic K'nex gun!

dude, what do you have against me? all you ever do is try to insult my guns. i think you seriously need a life.
and a girlfriend
Sure, why not yours? Unless you don't have one as apples suggested in which case you're a hypocrite and you don't know what you're talking about.

Speaking of which, you get all this criticism in the comments because this is NOT the first semi-auto, nor is it a true semi-auto at all. Loading a gun like that is kind of like pumping a shotgun 5 times before firing, and shooting off 5 shots in a semi-auto fashion, you still had to pump the gun for each shot fired.
People who tell people they need a girlfriend usually can't get one themselves. Stop being one of those people who retaliates to criticism with "omg you need a life", because the fact that they know something shows that they have one. It's probably the most pathetic and immature response there is on the internet, and I'm tired of seeing it. Grow up and learn to make real conversation, and maybe you'll learn a few facts in the process.
maybe you'll learn to make one too, and i think you will be bugged by everyone else in the world less.
That comment didn't make sense. Not even part of it.
oh shoot! too bad.
Nice way to handle the situation.
Dude(s). Can't we just leave this argument here? True semi auto this may not be, but a cool mechanism and decent range this is.

I have locked the proverbial topic.
Wow, big man, going for the cheap shot! What DJ is trying to say, is that this is not only NOT a new mechanism, but it's also not true semi auto either! True semi auto would mean you attach a mag, pull the trigger and it fires each time. With this gun, you have to load however many rubberbands you have shots for, then load the mag, THEN fire. It's an old concept. If you can't take people pointing out false and or misguided claims, then I suggest you don't post here. Insulting the senior k'nex community members will get you nowhere.
Err what? My comment wasn't a reply to your comment.
Actually no. The knex WASP is semi automatic and is way better than this in design. What you've done is just created another pseudo semi auto.
i've heard that already, two comments up. i wont repeat myself.
I was the second commenter on the whole ible. Your first comment was from someone you didn't realize you just created another pseudo-semi auto. Then I stepped in.
