Intro: DIY Moroccan Inspired Lampshade

I didn't know crafting lamp shade would be this much fun, even last week I had no plan of making one. but now I have tons of ideas for lamp shades! Anyways, I tried to make a different lamp shade this time. It turned out real sweet and gentle. This ible will show how to make a twinkling patterned lamp shade. I hope you enjoy making it. Have fun!

STEP 1: Things You'll Need

To make this lamp shade you'll need:

1) Cardboard,
2) Scissor,
3) Pencil and ruler,
4) Styrofoam sheet,
5) Super glue and white glue,
6) Anything with a pointy edge,
7) Highlighters to decorate the shade,
8) Lighting system (wire, bulb, bulb holder and plug).

STEP 2: Getting Started

Cut out a piece of cardboard and draw stripes with a pencil on it (these stripes are the folding lines).
Draw any kind of design between the stripes with a pencil.
Use something hard with a pointy edge to pop holes on the design.

STEP 3: Designing

BE CAREFUL: Place a styrofoam sheet under the cardboard piece over a flat surface and then pop holes , otherwise you might pop your finger like I did!

STEP 4: Light Up!

When you're done with popping the holes, use highlighters to outline over the design. The colors of the highlighters (a small area around the hole) will sparkle when the lamp light is on, which looks beautiful. You can use other techniques for color reflection, I couldn't come up with anything else.

Set the light fitting and place the over it. Turn the lamp on in a dark room and see the magic! The more attractive design you make the more attractive the shade looks.
