Intro: Wire Elf Ear Cuff

Hey everyone it's momo and I've missed you guys so much, I think I'll come in with a bang! This is pretty much a statement article of jewelry. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did. Have fun!

STEP 1: Supplies

1- 28 gauge wire.
2- 16 gauge wire (no bigger!!!)
3- pliers
4- round nose pliers
5- wire cutters
6- small beads (not shown)

STEP 2: Two Wire Pieces

They don't have to be a specific length, just cut one a LOT smaller than the other.

STEP 3: Curl

For this step just simply curl up the end. You can curl it up more if you want to, but you can just leave it like this

STEP 4: Outline

Bend the outline of your ear and sculpt it with your fingers so it looks nice

STEP 5: Hold On!

Now you need to make the part that 'holds on' to your ear. Bend it back with your round nose like shown above.

STEP 6: Another Curl

Cut it off and curl the end to finish it off nice. Slide it onto your ear and clamp down. You can just leave it like this or you can continue.

STEP 7: Separate Piece

Remember the piece we put aside earlier? Well you going to curl each end and make sure it's not to long by putting it up against the base

STEP 8: Wrap Around

take your 28 gauge wire and wrap starting from the bottom

STEP 9: Beads and Attachment

You want to line up the separate piece with the base and wrap. After 5-7 wraps, string a bead. Wrap one more time, string a bead. Wrap another time, string a bead the next. You want to wrap it once in between each bead because it keeps them sturdier

STEP 10: Try It on and Fit

You've got to put it on your ear and make sure it's going along the outline of your ear. No more, no less. Just make sure it looks nice on and change anything you might need to

STEP 11: Finish!

And that's all there is to it! I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and if you haven't already subscribe and become a part of the farm family and give a cow it's wings. Love y'all •_£

How dose it stay on your ear I’m trying to make it but I’m struggling with getting it to stay on my ear
Thank you for an easy to follow tutorial. My daughter and I will try this over the next few weeks.

Thank you for your tutorial. I have two pieces of constructive criticism. First, when making pix of the process, please use a blank background. The polka dot background in your pix was very distracting for me since I have poor eyesight and have difficulty focusing. Also, please try to include measurements of the wire lengths, since it would be nice to be able to make matching pairs without a lot of guess work. :-)

Where did you get the 16 gauge wire??????

You can find 16 gauge wire at Michael's craft stores, and occasionally at Hobby Lobby.

Thank you for removing my photograph. I understand that copyright laws are not obvious to everyone, and I don't mind people using my creations to inspire their own versions. I do not, however, want my photographs used without my consent and ESPECIALLY without giving credit to the original artist. Trying to make a living as an artist is hard enough already, we don't need to steal from each other. Best of luck to you.

I love it!!! maybe a vulcan style one too with maybe some blue beads and incorporate a chevron (starfleet symbol) in there some how???

Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to get started. This was amazing.

THANK YOU! I've been looking for a tutorial like this for quite a while. All I could find were things like "How to apply synthetic elf ears" or "How to make your own elf ears" (I checked that one out, but it was about how to CUT YOUR EARS and medical tape them together so they heal into elf shaped ears!) I believe this will turn out much better than my last attempt.
