Intro: Wooden Kitchen Sign

I made a Rustic DIY Wooden Kitchen Sign using a quote that my wife found on Pinterest. I love how it turned out and it was really easy to make.

Lately, I’ve been experimenting with different wood stain and paint techniques to get a rustic or farmhouse look. There are many different ways to achieve that, but I’ll share with you one of my favorite ways so far. I’ve also used an old skill saw blade to make a rough cut appearance on the wood. The method I used to stain and paint the wood could be applied to any furniture project. I built a shoe rack bench and mirror frame using the same technique. Leave a comment below if you have your own method of making wood look rustic.

do you have the stencil for the lettering or do we have to make our own?
Please visit my website to download the PDF that has the lettering.
That drillsaw scares me...even the pictures makes me squirm. There's got to be a safer way to roughen up a board. Other than that, nice job.

Thanks for showing your finishing technique. Silly question I know but how did you attach the utensils?
Hi Brad, I attached the fork and the spoon with a fishing line. I drilled a small hole between the boards and feed the line to the back and tied it in the back. You cant see the fishing line from far away or in the photo.
Really! You got incredible idea, then applied it on your works practically and the result is amazing. I must say the sign board looks classy.
