Brushetta Toasts
Intro: Brushetta Toasts
Very simple and refreshing toast.
Make it for cocktail parties, as a small snack between meals, or just like that.
It uses very few ingredients , non fatty and packed with nutrition.
STEP 1: Ingredients:
1 Bread- baguette bread(that long pariser bread....) if available
few cloves garlic
1 large tomato
1 small onion
herbs of your choice, basil or thyme go well.
green chillies if you have demanding taste buds
salt and pepper
STEP 2: Prepare....
slice the bread into thick slices( around2/3 inch) and arrange them flat on a baking tray.
slice the garlic clove into half and with the help of a fork rub the cut end on the bread slices( see picture).
Now bake for 5 -10 min at 180C till the toast turns brownish and the whole kitchen is encased in a wonderful aroma.
STEP 3: Getting the Sales Done
In the meanwhile chop the tomato and the onion very fine. Toss in a few herbs -if fresh chop them first.
salt and pepper as per taste.
Your salsa is ready.
STEP 4: Finally!
After getting the toasted bread to cool splat on each slice a spoonful of salsa.
BRUSHETTA TOAST is ready!!!!

My old Sicilian neighbour pronounces it as brut-chetta with a 'ch' as in Charlie but you are right the rest of Iltalians have the half K in there.
