Introduction: 11 LED Adjustable Chaser With 555Timer

Leds: Pack of 25 Can use Purple Ones

IC: 555 timer, CD4017

Capacitor: 10uf, 100nf(104)

Potentiometer: 10k Linear Mono

Resistors: 1k, 10k, 120ohm

Breadboard + Cables + Battery Clip

Step 1: Place Base Components

The 555 timer and Cd4017 are placed along with the leds and the wires connecting to power and ground.

555Timer:

Pin1 to Gnd

Pin4 to Pwr

Pin8 to Pwr

Cd4017:

Pin8 to Gnd

Pin13 to Gnd

Pin15 to Gnd

Pin16 to Pwr

Step 2: Add the Rest of the Components

The capacitors, resistors and potentiometer as well as the last led are added.

Capacitors:

100nF(104) Pin5 to Gnd

10uF Pin6 to Gnd NEGATIVE SIDE to GROUND!

Resistors:

10k Pin7 to Pwr

120ohm Pin3 to Extra LED leg

1k x10 LED leg to other side

Potentiometer:

10k at edge

Step 3: First Wires

Right Potentiometer leg to Pin5

Middle Potentiometer leg to Pin7

Left Potentiometer leg to Pin7

Pin6 To Pin2

Step 4: Alittle More Wires

Pin14 to LED leg

Potentiometer Varies the Speed.

The circuit can be soldered and then included in a robot to give a cool effect.
