Introduction: Asian Noodle Beef Dish

About: Michael's Test Kitchen - FOOD - SUGAR - RECIPES

This Asian Noodle dish is based off a Chow Mein recipe, but, instead, combines rice noodles with ground beef for a more protein-rich meal. The rice noodles are naturally gluten-free, and to avoid soy-allergies, in this recipe we'll be using coconut aminos, a natural soy-sauce substitute.

Able to be made with only one pot, this is a fast & friendly family recipe that's sure to please everyone.

Step 1: Ingredients

(Serves 6)

16oz rice noodles

1 lb ground beef (93% / 7% )

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

1/3 cup avocado oil

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup coconut aminos

Green onions, for garnish

Step 2: Boil It

Set a large pot of water over high heat. While your water is heating up, prepare the sauce in the following step.

Step 3: The Sauce

Prepare the sauce by adding the garlic, ginger, oil, brown sugar, and coconut aminos together in a medium bowl.

Step 4: Boil the Noodles

Once the water has reached its boiling point, add the rice noodles, and cook according to the instructions on the back of the packaging.

Once cooked, pour into a strainer to drain the water.

These particular Vietnamese rice noodles took 7 minutes; other rice noodles may take only 3 to 4 minutes.

Step 5: Cook the Beef

While the noodles are in the strainer, add a bit of oil to the original pot, over medium high heat. Add the ground beef and cook through, breaking the meat up into small chunks.

Step 6: Add the Sauce

Add the sauce to the meat in the pot, and bring to a simmer.

Step 7: Add the Rice.

Remove the pot from heat, and add the strained rice noodles. Stir until thoroughly combined.

Step 8: Enjoy

Garnish with green onion clippings and enjoy!
