How do you turn off the blood in portal?

I am wondering if there is any way to turn off the blood in portal (for PC) im not allowed to play it because it has blood.

According to that video:

In the portal folder/directory, find the folder/subdirectory "cfg". Inside that, you'll find a file called "autoexec.cfg". Edit this as a text file, and add two more lines:

violence_ablood 0
violence_hblood 0

Save the file.

If you have the Stream version of the file, this file may not be present. In that case, create it and put these two lines into it.

So says the video.

Haven't tried for it, can't vouch for it, don't know if it affects gameplay in any other way.

Supposedly you can. I haven't tried this method. I've read there is only one place in the game that does have blood, which is if you happen to get shot by the turrets.
