My PS2 is not starting up! HELP!?

I have checked all the cables and they are all connected right! It was working, then I turned it off and I picked it up and put it on my knee sideways. I then put it back down and it wasn't working. Could this have anything to do with it. Other things : Its a fat Ps2, its quite old.
