Needed complete backup of the factory image of a dv9260us laptop.2007 Hp dv9260us laptop. Windows Vista Ultmate 64 bit.

I cannot get into safe mode because after the system recovery-I am unable to access windows. Actually I am unable to do anything. Do you know of anyone who has a complete backup of the factory image of a dv9260us laptop. I have a 2007 Hp dv9260us laptop. Windows Vista Ultmate 64 bit.

The tech support people at hp are useless. I wonder how they can call themselves computer techs. All they do is read from a script.

Get Vista CD from anywhere, may be a friend or your office or your dad's PC, you can use it u purchased one with your pc preinstalled. after having it installed get the drivers etc from the HP web site by probiding Product Id TAG number.
Use Any disk imaging software to make and image of the fresh installation and keep it safe.

Unless you removed it for some reason, the recovery image should still be on the hard drive.  When you first power on the computer, there should be prompts to hit an F-key (usually F11) for recovery or a boot menu (pay attention, they flash quickly).  Hit the appropriate key and follow the prompts.  Or, try hitting F8 right before it tries to boot into Windows, then select the recovery console.

If you're successful, remember to burn a set of recovery discs.  If your hard drive decides to die completely, you'll need them.

If you ever deleted the recovery partition (as some do), then you're out of luck and must order a set of recovery discs from HP.

Contact the manufacturer. They will have a recovery CD. It may cost $35 or so.
