What are some good brands of gas string trimmers?

My price range is 100 to 200 dollars. I want a trimmer that will last. Does anybody know anything about Husqvarna string trimmers?

I'd look into Troy-Bilt, Poulan, Echo and Black & Decker. They all get good ratings online. I've personally owned the Poulan Weed Eater Feather Lite, but it died after a few years, (although it was never put away before rain, snow, etc. which can ruin just about any good engine.) Husqvarna string trimmers get good reviews also, but remember, before you buy a trimmer, make sure you do a bit of research on it.

Ended up getting the Echo SRM-225 straight shaft trimmer. It is a great trimmer. It is well balanced and powerful.

We have 2 Stihl's at work and haven,t had any problems with the powerhead for 8 years so far. I've had to replace the plastic spinning part where the string goes is all.

Standard reminder: You may or may not agree with their top ratings, but Consumer Reports is very good for avoiding the worst products; a subscription is cheap and you can sign up for the website on a by-the-month basis
