Why is MIT license not offered among the available licenses on Instructables?

Hi folks,

why is MIT license not listed in the available licenses for instructables? It seems to be a very popular license for open source software development projects, I found a modified version which covers hardware as well..
Any specific reason why it's not available? What's the most popular license around here?

Thanks and Regards,
Stefan

Hi there, the reason why is that MIT License refers to a code of software which is the MIT license specifically mentions that the code can be used in other software that might have a less permissive license. MIT License is ranked 1st but it refers to differently far away to use in Instructable projects here. One question... is it really good to use an MIT License for a cooking tutorial? That would answer your own question. Creative Common is the best license for Instructables because it is compatible with all intellectual property. I hope it helps. :)
