does anyone know how to fix a jet lighter?

in the tube/opening where the flame comes there is a very thin wire going across the middle of the opening. do you know if that is important and if so how do i fix it if it is broken?

That could be the piezoelectric ignition electrode, if it's only attached on one side. If this is the case, make sure the free end isn't touching anything so you get a good arc. Pictures would help.
