my flip camera won't work, and I need some files.?

I got a non-working flip camera from my parent's friends. it just turns on, then back off. I'm thinking maybe one of the files is corrupted. if this is so, then replacing it should fix it. but I can't find anywhere to download them. so if anybody has a flip classic camera, then I would like the system files off of it. just plug it in and copy and paste the root to another folder and email it or upload it or something. just some way to get it to me.

or, if you know a different way to fix it, that works too.

I had this EXACT same problem with my 1st flip classic camera.  After walking through a few basic troubleshooting steps with support I ended up having to return it (luckily still under warranty).

They never told me what was wrong but I thought the same thing. It seemed like some type of corruption.  I could see files on the device but not write anything to it.

Good luck!

Flip batteries take at least 3.5 hours to charge. Sometimes the battery heats up while charging. If it's hot enough, it will pause charging. Try charging it overnight with the battery cover off. Doing that will keep the battery from heating up. If that doesn't work, try this: My flip will boot if I hold the power button for a quarter second. Mine is a white and chrome 2nd gen ultra HD.

Try plugging it in without the batteries installed.  That forces the flip to run on the USB port's power.

I had a similar problem when I tried to read my flip with nearly empty batteries.

Is the battery good? Does it have removable storage-media?
