1. Wire it per the mfg specification. How? get the spec from the mfg.

2. You "tried to repair it". Can't answer without explicit explanation of what you did to it.

Take it to a guitar shop.  Don't have a clue what was wrong OR what you did to fix it.

What was wrong and what did you do to fix it?

THat would probably be a good thing to do.  Anytime you make any changes in the coil it is going to change the sound.  Sometime for the better but sometimes for the worse.

Humbuckers have two coils, wired 180 degrees out-of-phase. The two coils together help to cancel noise ("bucking the hum.")

It's possible during the repair you only reconnected one of the two coils. One coil alone wouldn't work as designed (canceling hum), nor would it sound right--it's designed to work in series with the other coil.

Maybe check your soldering work. But don't forget--pickup wires are extremely delicate, and you might have broken one of the coils (and have an open circuit on that side.) Then you'd have to replace the whole pickup.

It's very possible one of the coils is shorted--I.E., it's a direct connection, and not acting as a coil anymore. That means only one of the two coils is "getting through." And that wouldn't sound right.

You could always go back an examine your repair--it's possible you could correct this. However, pickup wires are really fragile.

You might need a new pickup. The two coils are carefully matched, and if one is shot, you cannot just drop in a replacement from a different pickup. You have two choices:

--rewire that coil (very difficult.)
--buy a new pickup.

You might want to clarify your question a bit so that people understand its not an  '84 half-ton, 4x4 you're talking about. I almost suggested you check the compression and the timing.
