ERROR 500: javax.servlet.jsp.JspException logging in bug

Every time I log in and try to open either the home page of this site or any of the instructbles it throws me this:

This bug occurs only when I'm logged in. When I'm not, everything's OK.
Using Firefox 3.0.1 on Win XP SP2.

A workaround has been reported by the original author of this post: set "en-us" as the first language in your preferences.

Same problem here. I can't see any instructables and I'm always get this prbolem.

Agree the problem still exists. Tested on various browsers, same Java error. Without login you can see all the instructables without any problems.

I would like to inform you that he issue hadn't been solved, as the problem still persists, though now it is not like in OP, but as in the comment of user "atisss". I would appreciate if you look into these matters, because instructables.com rocks and it would be nice to have bigger pictures and being able to post comments. Yours sincerely, 6stygos

Hey! http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-a-Voltage-Inverter/, and got the same error, and lots of more instructables i try to look. Sad, hope its going to work fine soon, or can it be my fault?

I'm having the exact same problem as 6stygos. I can usually see the main page when i'm logged in, but almost never the instructables them selves.

6stygos, are you still seeing this problem? It looks to me like a known issue that occurs sometimes in the couple of minutes after we've just pushed a new release. It always goes away after 30 or 40 seconds, but you may need to use Shift-F5 to reload if the page has gotten into your browser's cache. Unfortunately it is a problem with our appserver, not with the site code, so until they fix it and release a new version of that, there's not a lot we can do. While it produces a similar bunch of output, it is not actually related to the issue BruceMiller had with deleting a step.

Having similar problem. See this forum for post titled "Can Not Delete a Step" which has a response from an SU staffer saying they will look into it.
