what's the carabiner and string for? Do you have a version of this instructable with instructions?

The carabiner and string is a safety system. If you look at the second picture, you will see that there is a second rope above the main rope. One carabiner is attached to the camera strap, and the other is clipped onto the safety line. This is to keep the camera from hitting the ground should the main line break.
