The Simulated Modular Rifle Initiation (SMRI), so termed by myself but invented by TheDunkis, was originally intended to "look realistic but otherwise was [intended to be] completely nonfunctional." When I first saw the forum topic, I was immediately impressed with how it looked, but at the same time, I was wondering how it would look were it modified to shoot. Taking over 1 month to build and improve (I went through at least 6 different versions), my SMRI can not only shoot, but has numerous other features, things such as:

- Great range: 40 - 60 ft.
- Really nice sights
- Super modular body
- Preloadable magazines
- Extendable stock (gun goes from 28 in. to 32 in. SBR version)
- Ability to change from IAR (Infantry Automatic Rifle, Pics 1 - 12) to SBR (Short Barreled Rifle, 13 - 22)
- Really easy to operate, un-jam, and modify

While a number of us worked on the gun (TheDunkis, didexo, and myself), only didexo (see his version here) and I were happy enough with our versions to post, all the same, most of the credit of my version goes to TheDunkis.

Enjoy!

can you build a mock-up version of the stock so i can put it on my BAR?

A mock-up version? I am not sure weather that is really necessary, the whole idea is really simple. Look at pic #11. It is pretty self-explanatory.

I legit dont get it.

Explain to me exactly what you don't get, then I'll help you. =D

I dot get the extension [art with the green connector

Hmm, well, that is rather simple, so let me explain. Do you see the first layer of the tube (the inner-layer that the stock goes around)? Well, build three of those (that have adaptations so that you can put them on your gun), then place all three together, one on top of the other, and place the green rods in the spaces as you see fit. Simple. =D I know this description is kinda hard to understand, but the concept is really simple. =D

"I am not sure WEATHER" lol, I will try, but i would appreciate a mock-up

XD, stupic auto correct.

lol stupic

lol stupic

I legit dont get it.

Looks nice. Good job! :)

Thanks man, I'm glad you like it. It was a really nice build just because it was so modular (as TD intended), all the same, it was never perfect.

The iar version of this is probably the best looking gun in the site in my opinion. I particularly like the beta mag

Really!?!? Thanks man! I never thought I'd here that! Again, thanks man. I personally prefer the SBR version over the IAR, but that is just me. =D

I tend to prefer IAR style weapons. I like the chunkier and sturdier look. I also quite like your G3 version aswell.

Sure, I can understand that. =D I kinda liked the G3 version, but it was too long and heavy for my tastes. Thanks again! BTW, you should get a profile pic.

How's this one?

GREAT!

Nice 8)

Thanks man!

NOW...

...tutorial...

Maybe internal pics, but the gun is almost wholly dismantled now.

Well? REMANTLE IT!

...

Nice, I like it : ) I think you should build a Negev next.

Thanks man. A Negev? I just did a LMG... A couple months ago... NVM XD I'll definitly think about it... As of right now, I am working on a Kel Tec PMR-30 and a AAC Honey Badger. Want to see some pics? Check out my two newest forum topics. =D

Nice man! For that picture you want me to make, you never responded to my question. "What picture?" See my orange board for more. I still want to make you a picture! :)

Thanks! Oh, whoops, my bad, I'll go there now!

Aight homie, no problem. XD

post postpost postpost postpost postpost postpost postpost postpost postpost postpost post

No, no, no, this is a post:

XD, I am teasing you. I don't know if I will post full instructions, but I might post internals.

lol :P

XD

nyet

no internals

full instructions O^O

Whoa that's looks awesome!

Thanks man!

Wow is it really auto?

Ah... No, not its not. IAR (Infantry Automatic Rifle) was meant to more relate to the aesthetics rather than the actual abilities of the gun.

Still nothing short of amazing i hope this gets featured.

Me too, but it probably wont. =D Thanks again!

Looks great red, they are both good but I prefer the one that doesn't have the tripod and drum magazine. Your Dragunov review is ready for the end of April as I will be making more instructions. About 6 months ago I showed you a picture of the KAP-40 I made and you wanted a review, so I will be making one at the beginning of May.

Thanks man, I am glad you like it! Yeah, I prefer the SBR over the IAR, but that is because I have been really into the AAC Honey Badger... can't wait to make one! Sounds good bro, can't wait to see that stuff from you. =D

Nicely done Red, this is a huge gun and that first picture looks boss. Awesome job! :-)

It really isn't that big, only about 28 in. long when the stock is in rest position. Thanks man!

Haha, from my perspective it is! No problem! :-)

XD, wow, then your persepctive must be PRETTY small!

Here are some unseen pics of the SMRI IAN/SBR, as well as a list of guns that remind me of the SMRI (or the other way around):

Model 3T-M / LAR-15 R3

Israeli Negev

Remington R5 RGP Carbine

The AK series

LWRC International SIX8 A5

Colt IAR (Model IAR6940)

AAC Honey Badger

CZW 438 M9

The SIG 550 series

Here are some pictures of my SMRI in "G3 / sniper form." I am about to change it some more, so these are all the pics I can provide.

Whoa that thing's big!
