I'm a pro member (from getting featured multiple times), have been for about a year. I just recently found out about patches and I want to create some custom ones and give a few away to my following when I reach 100 followers. I can't find any of the settings or anything related to patches on any of my profile/settings/you pages. Have the patches been phased out? Am I looking in the wrong places? Why can't I access them?Help is appreciated, thanks!

Hello all,I'm considering creating a medium sized 3D printed 6 DOF robot arm for Raspberry Pi or Arduino Mega, likely using 28BYJ-48 5v mini stepper motors for all joints and an optional servo for the claw. Current sketches and ideas have it laid out with a rotating base, two arm segments (one rotates), and a 2 axis "wrist". Larger steppers may be used in a second iteration based on the performance of the first. I want to be able to code it to the point where it can be used for 3D printing, CNC, and Laser based work, as well as accurate pick-and-place functionality. I assume my code will need to have advanced trigonometry functions to triangulate the x-y-z position and angle of the manipulator head (I already know how to do this), but I am unsure of how to get to that point from a standard g-code file (or how to read a g-code file with Arduino in the first place). Any tips or ideas that might help? Thanks, Dangerously ExplosiveP.S. If you like the idea, but don't have a tip, comment anyway with what you think I should have the arm do. It's still in the design stage and I'm trying to get a feel for how popular this idea will be, as well as possible functions.

Hello, lovely people!I have a 1976 Wurlitzer Baltic jukebox that has started to misbehave. The needle arm lowers, then jerks slightly, coming down pretty much in the middle of the song, then at the end of the song, the arm is supposed to raise back up, and the record should be returned to the carriage, but now it's stopped doing that.I've spoken to a couple of jukebox servicing-type-people and they've said it'd cost more than the jukebox is worth to get it properly serviced and fixed (it's not a popular model), so I turn to you guys. I'm happy to do the work myself (if possible), but I want to properly understand what's actually wrong with it before I start poking around and potentially making it worse. Some sub-standard video of the the problem here and here, and I've included the only copy of the service manual I could find. Before it came to me, the jukebox lived in a student union bar for many years, so I imagine it wasn't particularly well taken care of. I love this machine very much, and I hate that it's become basically unusable. Any advice or help you can give would be very gratefully received. Many thanks in advance,Kath

I don't have a 3D printer and was thinking of using Shapeways to print your parts. On upload of the STL files they need to know if the measurements are in mm's or inches. Please let me know? Also have you made your files available on OSH Park? I thought PCB designs could be shared on there to make l...
A GREAT POST!Mosquitoes are the most deadly creatures on earth. Anopheles mosquitoes kill more people in Africa than lion, cheeter, hippo (the 2nd biggest killer), crocks, elephant and wild dogs combined. They're the ones with the microscopic black and white football socks. These are cheap and easy t...

Hi Brett, today finally I could turn on the circuit and try it. The 4 matrix screen does not work properly. When I touch one of the sensors I notice that it changes its mode.. clock letters, analog clock, temperature, but without the LEDs being well marked. When I press RESET on the arduino board, t...

Hi Instructables team,I recently attempted to update an Instructable that was originally published in 2012. When I tried to upload a new photo, the upload process appears to succeed, but the image doesn't actually show up, and I receive a 403 error if I try to click on it. I tried uploading a .jpeg and .png file types, and used both Firefox and Chrome on OSX.Additionally, when I edit the Instructable, it fails to save.I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that it was published so long ago. Please advise. Thank you!

I copied & pasted your code but get an error "exit status 1" error compiling for board Arduino/Genuine UNO. However if I use the online uploader it indicates it up loaded successfully. I want to use this program with a LCD but if I can't compile this portion of the code I cannot add to it, any sugge...

I am new to stepper motors and didn't have one. Just need to make sure that I will buy the correct stepper. My project is about DSLR camera pan + tilt and for slider, so it will be 3 steppers. Maybe can carry 1.5kg - 2kgI already have the following:Battery: Laptop powerbank USB1:5V/2.1A USB2: QC2.0 port 5V/2A 9V/2A 12V/ 2ADriver: Adafruit Motor Shield V2 for ArduinoArduino: DFRduino UNO R3And some 1:40 reduction gears from past projectAbout the stepper I'm planning to order in Bangood.com and here is my choices: 12-24v, 1.8 step, 0.5 amps, 20 resistance, 1000g.cm hold, 80g.cm detent 12-24v, 1.8 step, 0.28 amps, 26 resistance, 700g.cm hold, 60g.cm detent 12v , 1.8 step, 0.4 amps, 30 resistance, 28n.cm hold, 1.6n.cm detent 12v, 1.8 step, 0.4 amps, 30 resistance, 260mN.m hold, 12mN.m detentPlease let me know what should be best for my project. I'm not expert in steppers. If you have any suggestions that would be great.Thank you!
